Bad company can lead us astray if we don't stay vigilant about what we let in our life.

Transcript

[Steve Myers] Scientists estimate there are 130 million objects floating in orbit that are a millimeter or larger in size. Those things could cause great damage to a satellite or the space station, so they have to track these things in order to avoid them. Now, spiritually speaking, there are so many things we need to track in our lives so it doesn't interrupt our spiritual orbit. We're told throughout scripture, "We have to watch out."

And there's a directive that we're given in the Proverbs. Proverbs 13 reminds us of another one of those objects that could send us reeling if we're not careful. Proverbs 13:20, in the Message Translation it says this, "Become wise by walking with the wise, hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces."

So, watch out for the company you keep, watch out, be careful don't go... just go with the flow., you don't hang out and just get into all kinds of trouble. How many times in scripture are we told, "Don't hang around angry people." "Don't be deceived, bad company ruins good morals." Those are admonitions we're given over and over and over again because those kinds of things could send us off in the wrong orbit. So, to be spiritual, make sure we watch out, watch the company we keep.

That's "BT Daily." I'll see you next time.
